Privacy Policy

1. The short version

Everything Bagel's tools run in your browser. The files, text, images, audio and video you use with them are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers. We collect a small amount of anonymous usage data (our own statistics, Vercel Web Analytics and FocusStat) to understand which tools are useful, and the site shows ads through Google AdSense.

2. What we collect

  • Anonymous tool usage statistics. When a tool page is opened or a tool produces a result, we record the tool name, the page path, the website you came from (if any) and your approximate country (derived from your IP address by our hosting provider). We do not store your IP address, do not use cookies for this, and cannot identify you from it.
  • Vercel Web Analytics. Our host, Vercel, provides privacy-friendly, cookie-less page view statistics.
  • FocusStat analytics. We use FocusStat to understand how the site is used: pages visited, clicks, scroll depth, page speed and JavaScript errors, and occasionally anonymised session recordings. It uses a random visitor ID that is not linked to you, does not fingerprint your browser, and discards IP addresses after working out an approximate location. Anything you type, and the content you work on inside a tool, is masked in your browser before anything is sent.
  • Ratings. If you rate a tool, we store the tool name and the rating only.
  • Contact form. If you contact us, we store your email address, subject and message so we can reply. We do not use it for anything else.

3. Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses this information and opt out of personalised advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and adssettings.google.com.

We also use your browser's local storage (not cookies) to remember things like your favourite tools and unsaved work in some tools. This data never leaves your device.

4. Third-party services used by specific tools

  • Maps: map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap and other tile providers, and place searches are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. The shapes you draw stay in your browser.
  • Background remover: the AI model is downloaded from Hugging Face on first use. Your images are processed on your device and are not sent anywhere.
  • Screen recorder captions: when you choose to generate captions, an open-source speech recognition model (OpenAI Whisper, about 65–300 MB depending on the quality you pick) is downloaded once from Hugging Face, and the files of the AI runtime it needs (onnxruntime-web) are loaded from cdn.jsdelivr.net. Both are then cached by your browser. Your audio is transcribed on your device and is never uploaded.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
