Audio Converter – MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC & Opus

Convert audio between MP3, WAV, M4A (AAC), OGG Vorbis, FLAC and Opus — or pull the soundtrack out of a video file. Add several files at once, pick the quality, and download them one by one or as a ZIP. Files are converted on your device with ffmpeg and never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop one or more audio or video files.
  2. Pick the output format, quality (bitrate), channels and sample rate.
  3. Click Convert. The first conversion downloads the converter engine (about 30 MB).
  4. Download each file, or all of them as a ZIP.

Common Use Cases

  • Turning WAV recordings into smaller MP3s
  • Making M4A or FLAC files play on older devices
  • Extracting a soundtrack from a video
  • Converting a folder of voice memos at once

Frequently Asked Questions

Does converting reduce quality?▼
Converting to a lossy format (MP3, M4A, OGG, Opus) discards some detail; higher bitrates sound closer to the original. WAV and FLAC are lossless, but converting a lossy file to them can't restore lost quality.
Which bitrate should I choose?▼
192 kbps MP3/AAC is a good default for music; 128 kbps is fine for speech. Opus sounds good at lower bitrates (96–128 kbps).
Why is the first conversion slower?▼
The converter engine (about 30 MB) is downloaded on first use and cached by your browser afterwards.
Is there a file size limit?▼
There is no hard limit, but conversion happens in your browser's memory. Files over a few hundred MB may fail, especially on phones.
Can I convert several files at once?▼
Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another and can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
