Image Compressor – Reduce JPG, PNG & WebP File Size

Make images smaller for the web, email or upload forms. Choose the quality, optionally resize, and compare each result with the original before downloading.

How to use it

  1. Pick the output format, quality and (optionally) a maximum width/height.
  2. Choose or drop your images. They compress straight away.
  3. Use the compare button to check quality. If you change settings, click “Apply new settings”.
  4. Download files one by one or all as a ZIP.

Common Use Cases

  • Speed up web pages
  • Meet upload size limits
  • Shrink phone photos for email
  • Remove location metadata before sharing

Frequently Asked Questions

How much smaller will my images get?▼
Photos usually shrink by 50–90% at 70–80% quality. PNG graphics kept as PNG mainly shrink when resized; converting to JPG or WebP saves much more, but JPG has no transparency.
What if the compressed file is bigger?▼
The tool says so and keeps the original file for that image, both for single downloads and in the ZIP.
Is EXIF metadata removed?▼
Yes. Re-encoded images don't keep EXIF data such as camera details and GPS location. The photo's rotation is applied to the pixels first, so it still displays upright.
Why is there no WebP option?▼
Some browsers (older Safari) can't create WebP files, so the option is hidden there.

Why use this tool?

  • Quality, maximum size and JPG/WebP output under your control
  • Never hands back a bigger file: keeps the original instead
  • Before/after comparison
  • Private: runs on your device
