What happens to transparent areas?▼
JPG can't store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the colour you choose (white by default).
Will the image lose quality?▼
JPG is lossy. At 90% (the default) the difference is hard to see; lower quality gives smaller files.
Can I convert other formats?▼
Yes. WebP, GIF (first frame only) and BMP files work too.
Is there a size limit?▼
No fixed limit, but images above about 16 megapixels are scaled down to fit browser memory limits on phones. You'll see a note when that happens.
