Why do the available voices differ between devices?▼

The tool uses the speech voices installed in your browser and operating system, so Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Chrome each offer different voices. Some voices marked "online" are provided by your browser vendor and need an internet connection.

Can I download the speech as an MP3?▼

No. Browsers don't let web pages capture the output of their built-in speech voices, so this tool can only play the speech. To save it, use your system's screen or audio recorder.

Why did speech stop on a long text in other tools?▼

Some browsers cut off long utterances after about 15 seconds. This tool avoids that by reading one sentence at a time.

Is my text sent anywhere?▼

The text is handled by your browser's speech engine. Local voices run on your device; voices marked "online" may be processed by your browser vendor's service.
